Elizabeth Taylor was a woman with many stunning, valuable, and rare jewelry. It is not surprising to know that she owned the beautiful La Peregrina a.k.a. The Pilgrim or The Wanderer. It was gifted to her by her loving husband, Richard Burton that he bought in 1969 for $37,000. 

The necklace featured 50.95 carats (223.8 grains) Pearls which were about 500 years old. After the death of the actress Elizabeth Taylor in 2011, the necklace went to Christie's auction and was sold for $11.8 million.

This simple yet beautiful seven-strand necklace has a total of 614 natural cream-rose pearls. This amazing necklace is 21 to 35 inches long finished with platinum and white gold clasp and Old Mine Cut small Diamonds.

This necklace which is known for its value and simplicity was sod in 2013 for $9.1 million at Christie's auction.

The Baroda Pearl Necklace is one of the most expensive Pearl necklaces around the world. It is a two-strand necklace that features 68 natural Pearls which came from the Seven-Strand necklace of Indian Maharajas of Baroda. It is joined by the diamond clasp of cushion-shaped.

This beautiful Pearl necklace was sold by Christie's auction in 2007 for $7.1 million.

The Cowdray Pearl Necklace was originally owned by the Viscountess Cowdray Lady Pearson. Each natural black saltwater Pearls ranges from 11.4 to 6.6 millimeters and is 43.2 centimeters. The finishes with a rectangular mixed-cut diamond clasp. 

This necklace was sold in 2002 for $3 million by Christie's auction and again in 2015, it was sold for $5.3 million.

This gorgeous four-strand Pearl necklace featured with natural black colored Pearls has 63, 69, 76, and 81 wild pearls. The color ranges from dark gray, peacock, silver, aubergine, and green.

This magnificent Black Pearl Necklace was sold by Christie's auction for $5.1 million in 2011.

Another simple and beautiful Pearl necklace in this expensive list is the Duchess of Windsor Pearl Necklace. The original owner of this necklace was Dowager Empress and it was purchased by Calvin Klein for $4.8 million in 2007 as a gift for his wife.

This necklace consists of 28 creamy-white natural Pearls. The clasp has two emerald-cut diamonds weighing 2 carats, two fancy-cut diamonds of 1 carat framed by single-cut twenty small diamonds.

This Pearl necklace is a silver-white and cream-white colored natural pearl that features 120 Pearls. Each pearl ranges from 6.5 to 12.25 millimeters. It was sold for $3.7 million by Christie's auction in 2012.

According to the Gemological Institute of America, 114 are natural Pearls.

The Barbara/Marie Pearl Necklace originally belonged to Marie Antoinette and when she was killed in the French revolution, it came to the possession of Barbara Hutton. She had worn the necklace on her wedding to her first husband in 1933. After the death of Barbara Hutton, it was auctioned by Christie's and sold for $1.47 million.

The Five Strand Pearl Necklace consists of 63, 68, 72, and 73 natural pearls in both the fourth and fifth strands. The size of each pearl ranges from 4.1 to 11.35 millimeters. It was sold in an auction by Christie's in 2012 for $1.7 million.

This Emerald Cabochon Pearl necklace consists of 180 creamy-white Pearls of 4.95 to 11.05 millimeters each. It also features a diamond with emerald cabochon being the centerpiece of the clasp.

This Pearl necklace was sold by the New York Magnificient Jewels auction for $1.4 million.
