Analcime, also known as analcite, is one of the few minerals that characteristically forms its unique crystal. It is a member of the zeolite group and forms the isometric trapezohedron. It consists of a hydrated silicate of sodium and aluminum.
Analcime is a symbolism of balance, creativity, strength, honor, confidence, peace, and serenity.
Let us learn more about Analcime.
Analcime is a white or slightly colored tectosilicate mineral. Cleavages are not present in these stones and there is an uneven fracture. Just like Zeolites, it has a weak electromagnetic charge when rubbed. It is associated with the heart chakra and helps to stimulate and clear the heart chakra. It fills the wearer's life with unconditional love, forgiveness, and compassion. The wearer will be relieved of grief, depression, anxiety, and stress.
The derivation of the word "Analcime" was from the Greek word "Analkimos" which means "Weak". This name was given by Rene Just Haüy, a French mineralogist, in 1797, in allusion to its weak electrostatic charge developed when the mineral is heated or rubbed. It was first described in lava from the Cyclopean Islands near Sicily, Italy by a French geologist, Déodat de Dolomieu.
Analcime mostly occurs as a primary mineral in analcime basalt and other various igneous rocks in massive form or crystals. It also occurs as a cavity and vesicle fillings that are related to Zeolites, prehnite, calcite, quartz, and glauconite.
The chemical formula of Analcime is NaAlSi2O6·H2O. Its hardness is 5-5.5 according to the Mohs scale and they have a vitreous luster.
Analcime has no type of its own.
The price of Analcime can range anywhere from $15 to $115. Large colorless crystals of Analcime are extremely rare and their value can be more than other small transparent crystals.
